Victoria Burns promoted to senior stylist at Couzens Hair Stduio
Couzens Hair Studio on The Walk has a new senior stylist in Victoria Burns.
The 22-year-old from Milnrow was promoted at the start of August after two years as a junior stylist.
Victoria said: “I like it. It is a nice feeling. All my clients are behind me and have accepted it well. I have put my prices up but I have not noticed an effect from it, if anything, I have been busier. Onwards and upwards.”
Currently, the newly-promoted senior stylist is also completing a five-week course in modern and traditional barbering at Christian Booth in Royton, building her skills in hot towel shaves, waxing, fading, and shaping.
Victoria began working at Couzens in August/September 2015, after a two-year apprenticeship as a junior colour technician at Celest Arnold in Edenfield. She now works in cutting and barbering, which she says is her calling.
She explained: “I originally applied for a job the year before but Greg wanted someone with more experience. Greg got in touch with me months later. I saw the opportunity and took it.
“I am not sure what the future holds but I love the barbering side: I think I’ve found my calling. I want to thrive and get better and build more of a clientele.”
Victoria added: “I enjoy working here. It is a nice atmosphere and I am always looking for new clients. We are always happy if anyone wants to pop in for a free consultation.”
Greg commented: “It is so refreshing to see the young generation work hard to achieve their goals. Victoria is a prime example of what hard work and dedication can achieve. We are so incredibly proud of her.”
